Reading takes you on adventures you never thought were possible!

 Yeah!!! We know all of our beginning and ending sounds!!  We are know trying to start sounding out simple words.  You can help at home by showing them an easy item like a can and having them break apart the word so you can hear each sound -- ccc--aaa--nnn, then have them spell it.  You can do this when you practice spelling words.  When your child is reading at home, have them sound out the words or look for patterns-- like- The fat cat sat on the mat.  They all have the -at pattern. 

Every day we work on reading skills to become better readers.  To see just a few of the skills we are working on this week, look to your left.   Every Friday we do Reader's Workshop where we read books and summarize or do projects with books.
